Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 4, 2026

Please read these terms carefully before downloading or using Vaultaro. By using the app or website, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Vaultaro application ("App") or visiting the Vaultaro website ("Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use Vaultaro.

Description of Service

Vaultaro is a zero-knowledge password manager that encrypts your data on your device and stores it in your own Google Drive account. We do not operate a backend server for storing user data. All vault content is end-to-end encrypted and inaccessible to us.

Your Responsibilities

By using Vaultaro, you agree that you are solely responsible for:

  • Choosing a strong master password
  • Saving your recovery key in a secure place immediately after it is shown during setup
  • Maintaining access to your Google account
  • Any data you choose to share using the Share feature
  • The security of your device

Master Password and Recovery Key

This is the most critical section. Please read carefully.
  • Your master password is never stored by Vaultaro. If you forget it, you cannot unlock your vault without your recovery key.
  • Your recovery key is shown to you once during setup. Vaultaro does not store it and cannot recover it for you.
  • If you lose both your master password and your recovery key, your vault data is permanently and irreversibly lost. This is a deliberate consequence of the zero-knowledge design. Vaultaro bears no liability for data loss resulting from a lost master password or recovery key.

Google Drive and Data Storage

Your encrypted vault is stored in your Google Drive account's hidden application data folder.

  • Revoking Google access: If you remove Vaultaro's access via your Google Account settings, Google will permanently delete the application data folder containing your vault. This action is irreversible and Vaultaro cannot recover your data. Before revoking access, use the in-app "Delete Vault" option if you wish to cleanly remove your data, or ensure you no longer need access to your vault.
  • Account deletion: If you delete your Google account, your vault will be permanently deleted along with it.
  • Vaultaro is not responsible for data loss caused by Google Drive service outages, account restrictions, or Google's own policies.

Share Feature

The Share feature (available for Credit Card, Bank Account, and Identity entries) exports selected fields as unencrypted plain text via your device's system share sheet.

  • Once data is shared, it leaves Vaultaro's control entirely.
  • You are solely responsible for where you send shared data and how it is handled by the receiving app or service.
  • Vaultaro bears no liability for any consequences arising from data shared using this feature.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Vaultaro to store or manage data that facilitates illegal activity, fraud, or harm to others. You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.
